NFTs in a portfolio argue with themselves. Yesterday the collection was everywhere, today the order book is empty. Put in "the price of the last sale" or "I would never let it go for less" and the total becomes decoration.

For accounting, one boring thing works: the floor price the same item is being sold for on the marketplace right now. Not yours, not a rare trait from an auction — the collection's reference price.

Why not the last sale

The last sale can be a sweep, a fat finger, a wash trade or the sale of a rare copy. It is under no obligation to repeat for your token. The marketplace floor is closer to the question "if I have to exit today, what can I count on".

It is still not a guarantee. The order book can vanish. But between zero, a fantasy and the shelf price, the shelf price is the honest one.

Different chains, different markets

Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin ordinals, TON and Sui live on different marketplaces. "Just check OpenSea" does not work for TON. The valuation has to come from the market where the collection actually trades.

If the marketplace does not give a floor price, the asset counts as zero in the total. Blunt. Otherwise your portfolio fills up with pictures you cannot sell and you start making plans on thin air.

The same rule as for Telegram gifts and CS2 skins: no market, no number in the total.

How not to double-count with tokens

Some NFTs are a wrapper around a DeFi position. In that case the value already sits in DeFi. Adding "the NFT at floor price" on top is double-counting again. Only one valuation should stay in the total, usually the position, not the picture in the wallet.

Ordinary collections (PFPs, ordinals, gifts) do not live inside DeFi — those you can add separately.

Where to file this mentally

An NFT is not "could be a million", it is a line next to your coins with an obvious caveat: liquidity is worse than a stablecoin's. If that line swings tens of percent in a day, that is not a tracker bug, that is the market.
