Coins in Metamask. Another chunk on Bybit. An LP position in Uniswap. A hundred-dollar gift in Telegram. A skin in Steam. Ask yourself how much you have in total and there is no answer, only a list of apps.
A normal tracker counts coins. That is where it stops. Gifts, skins, TON NFTs and ordinals never reach that number. But it is the same money: you can sell it, you can get your taxes wrong because of it, and without it the portfolio looks smaller than it is.
What counts as a digital asset
It makes sense to look not at "crypto" but at everything you can price in dollars or rubles:
- coins and tokens in wallets, per chain;
- balances on exchanges;
- DeFi positions — the position itself, not the receipt sitting in the wallet;
- NFTs at the price the collection actually sells for;
- Telegram collectible gifts;
- the CS2 inventory at market prices.
As long as even one of those pieces lives in a separate app, there is no portfolio total. You end up comparing apples to an exchange rate and forgetting the box in the closet.
Why "just add up the balances" lies
Three typical holes.
First: the same deposit arrives twice. The protocol reports the position, the wallet reports the token that represents that position. Add both and the total inflates.
Second: spam tokens with a phantom price. Someone airdropped them to your address, they have a nice ticker and a price "just like USDT", and there is no liquidity behind them. If the tracker swallows that, your portfolio suddenly looks like a fund's.
Third: chains the data source simply does not see. One EVM address lives on every EVM chain at once. Solana, TON, Sui, Tron, Bitcoin — each one is on its own. If you never asked for a chain, it might as well not exist.
How to build a number you can actually use
You need one screen where all the sources land, and rules about what goes into the total and what does not.
In Crypto360 it works like this: wallets are read-only, exchanges are connected with keys that cannot withdraw, and Telegram gifts and CS2 skins sit in the same row as coins. The interface shows the cleaned total: spam hidden, DeFi not double-counted.
If you want to check it by hand, add up what you see per chain. That sum has to match the total at the top. If it does not, read why the number on your tracker lies.
Count separately the things Metamask never had: Telegram gifts and CS2 skins. For a lot of people that is not pocket change but a visible slice of the portfolio.
