You need MetaMask or Rabby, native coin for gas, and a stable or ETH on that same chain.

The swap

  1. Open app.uniswap.org, connect the wallet.
  2. Pick the network so it matches the wallet (Base ≠ Ethereum).
  3. From / To. Token not in the list — paste the contract from the project's official site, not a Twitter reply.
  4. Read the rate, slippage, fee. Sign in the wallet. On hardware — on the device screen too.

Typical holes

A fake Uniswap site. A token ticker PEPE with the wrong contract. Wallet on Ethereum, stable on Base. An “unlimited” approve on an unknown contract.

After the swap the token should show on the address. If not — check the network and hidden tokens in the wallet, then the check.
