MetaMask is the recognisable hot wallet for Ethereum and other EVM chains (Base, Arbitrum, BNB…). For a Uniswap swap it is usually enough.

Install

  1. Open metamask.io yourself, not from a chat.
  2. Hit download. Browser — the extension. Phone — App Store / Google Play via their link.
  3. Create a wallet, not import, if you do not have a phrase yet.
  4. Write the 12 words on paper. Check the order. Do not screenshot.
  5. Confirm the words in the app. Set a password for this device.

Password ≠ seed. Forgot the password, seed on paper — you restore. The other way around — you do not. See the seed phrase.

Right after

The default network is often Ethereum. Fees there are expensive. For cheaper swaps people add Base / Arbitrum — the network must match the one you withdrew the stablecoin to.

You can add the address to Crypto360 as watch-only immediately: you see the balance, the tracker cannot spend it.
