Most losses are not “Ethereum got hacked”. Someone opened the wrong site, pasted a seed or signed an approve for the whole balance. The network honestly executed the signature.

A phishing hook versus a wallet lock

Checklist before any signature

  1. The address bar matches the one you saved yourself. Not from an ad, not from Telegram, not from a reply on X.
  2. The wallet is not asking for a seed. If it is, that is not a wallet, it is a form for a thief. See phishing.
  3. In the preview: network, amount, contract. An opaque setApprovalForAll / unlimited approve to an unknown address — reject.
  4. There is native gas, and the chain is the one you withdrew the stable to. See gas.

Where to get the link if not from search

Search and ads sell the top slot to fakes. The sane path:

  • the protocol page on DefiLlama → Website and Twitter;
  • the pin and the site in the header of the official X account;
  • a bookmark you made on a quiet day.

Hardware and pocket change

A hot wallet for penny swaps. An amount you would hate to donate — hardware. That seed is not photographed either.

Crypto360 does not need a seed to show a balance: an address is enough.
